Consumer’s
choices are driven by their own self-interest. When new gadgets are released
into the market, demand for that product is substantially large. Choices that
consumers make are also affected by their income, which is why an industry
needs to take into consideration all of their target markets. Virtual reality
gaming is a fast growing trend amongst gamers around the world which is why
they have made the equipment more accessible to users.
Google
has created an amazing product called the ‘Google Cardboard’, although its low
resolution limits input it is a solution for the general public to experience
and enjoy virtual reality gaming. Not only is it cheap to buy, R39 online from
iToys- but there are also YouTube videos on how to make the headpiece yourself.
Owners of Samsung Smartphones can smile because their phone will allow them to
play online virtual reality games once they have purchased the Gear VR. Lastly,
gamers who own high end PC’s and have more money on hand to spend on equipment
can purchase the Occulus Rift or HTC Vive. So although the high end equipment is
rather pricey the industry is user friendly to all.
There
are many different games that have been released, some with the purpose of
stimulating the brain and others for pure enjoyment. Children would be
encouraged to use the gaming system to play games that involve solving puzzles
to help improve their memory and problem solving skills. Adults can use VR
gaming for training, it is said to be used by soldiers and firemen to train for
real life scenarios that could potentially save many lives.
Companies
within the virtual reality gaming industry are expecting large increase in
sales in the near future and bring a new dimension to the gaming industry.

Virtual reality was supposed to take gaming to the next level. It should be so immersive and so impressive that you won't want to put down the controller. And yes, playing VR games is a lot of fun but can be physically exhausting if you have the headset on long enough. VR is also increasingly being used in research and in various other industries.
